You might feel like healthcare is pretty cut and dry. Sure you are convinced there are many exciting advancements in the world of healthcare and there are many amazing things it can do for people who need surgeries or the like, but when it comes to healthcare and the job outlook you might feel like there isn’t much beyond the hospital setting. The truth is that there actually are many exciting jobs in the healthcare field.

Medical transporters are one of the more exciting jobs that exist today. If there is someone in a car accident in your city and they are hurt really bad, the medics that arrive at the scene do their best to stabilize and lower the victim’s body temperature, but there is still a problem if the hospital they are taking the victim to is unequipped to handle the spinal injuries that the victim has suffered. This is when the medic transport team comes in and stabilizes the victim and then transports them by helicopter to another town where the patient can get the care they need.

Nurse travel jobs are another exciting opportunity in the healthcare field. Many nurses assist surgeons and have other high-profile positions. They enjoy an adventurous lifestyle. The way traveling nurse jobs work is that doctors hire a nurse they like and feel comfortable working with then they pay them a large sum of money to fly all over the world with them and perform surgeries when called upon to do so. The way that works is that the nurse is on call all day long, all year round and when it’s time she heads to the airport and charters a private jet to save lives. Not a bad day at all for someone in the healthcare field.

When babies are born, the pediatrician sees them soon after birth to be sure things are as they should be. From then on, baby healthcare is managed by frequent doctor visits to check the baby’s health and talk to parents about development and behavior. Visiting the doctor often is a cornerstone in baby healthcare, making it easy for the doctor to keep up with baby’s growth and overall health.

Well-baby doctor visits will typically be scheduled around the 2, 4, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24 month marks and then once a year until school age. This enables the doctor to spot any potential health issues as early as possible so any necessary treatment can begin right away. During a typical well-baby healthcare check-up, the nurse or the doctor will weigh the baby then proceed to measure the head circumference and body length. The baby’s heart rate and pulse might also be checked as well. The nurse can do this before the doctor comes into the room, using one of her Michele watches to mark the rate. Baby’s growth measurements will be recorded on a growth chart at each visit. This type of growth record keeping will ensure that the healthcare provider sees the progress and can determine if the child is growing normally.

Also in these regular healthcare visits, the doctor will talk to the baby’s parents, asking them questions about the child’s development and behavior at home. In doing this, the healthcare provider is looking to check the baby’s progress regarding the developmental milestones that babies typically demonstrate at particular ages. These milestones in relation to age are only guidelines, for every baby is different. But when a baby repeatedly fails to reach milestones by a certain age, there could be cause for concern. Further investigation may be necessary. Things like this are why well-baby healthcare is important to follow up with.

But you have a future, and substance abuse will not help to make it any better. Fortunately, you have plenty of different groups you can go to for the kind of help you need, that aren’t too far from where you live. It’s a pretty long road to recovery, but you know you can make it, if you seek out the right help.
